Appointments of
Postdoctoral Scholars - APM-390

Effective July 1, 2003, the University implemented a new academic personnel policy for Postdoctoral Scholars which establishes a new salary/stipend range, requires full-time appointment and a limitation of five years total service for employees in the title of Postdoctoral Scholar.

This section provides the original announcement, text of the APM 390 policy, a summary of its provisions, and systemwide transition guidelines revised in January 2004.
(Transitional Guidlines were revised in September 2004.)

Local implementation procedures for appointments of new Postdoctoral Scholars and grandfathering of current Postdoctoral Scholars are listed in Part 2 below. The information in Part 2 has been revised to include the January 2004 benefits update.
