Graphs 1- 9 display mean residuals for women and minorities (line with open circle) and for women only (line with closed square) for each academic unit over time since 1994. Graph 10 displays the historical mean residuals for all general campus academic units. In every case, residuals are calculated separately for each academic unit by comparing actual salaries with predicted salaries for white male faculty members. The mean is calculated by adding the positive and negative residuals and dividing by the number of faculty members in that demographic group (women and minorities or women only). For more information about the faculty pay equity study, see Methodology.
