ACADEMIC PERSONNEL MANUAL HOLDERS

RE:       Revised Policy APM-035

The University of California Policy on Affirmative Action and Nondiscrimination in Employment set forth in APM - 35 was revised on October 13, 2008.  This revised policy incorporates changes recently made in order to:

  • provide consistency between University policy and the Uniformed Services Employment and Reempolyment Rights Act of 1994;
  • provide consistency with recently published regulations that implement the Jobs for Veterans Act of 2002; and
  • prohibit retaliation against any employee or person seeking employment for filing a complaint of discrimination or harassment pursuant to the University's nondiscrimination or harassment policies, or against a person who assists someone with a complaint of discrimination or harassment, or who participates in any manner in an investigation or resolution of a complaint or discrimination or harassment.

Please note that the University of California Policy on Sexual Harassment and the University California Procedures for Responding to Reports of Sexual Harassment set forth in Appendices APM-035, A-1 and A-2, respectively are still in effect.
