RE: Additional Documentation for Reviewing Files in the Professional Research Series

The Council on Academic Personnel (CAP) suggested a new summary form for appointees in the Professional Research series to provide additional documentation, in a standard manner, to facilitate the review of Professional Research appointees. It judged that a standard way to collect and include relevant documentation for this group of academics would facilitate review of the case and reduce the number of requests to departments to provide additional information. The form should also be included in cases proposing a change-of series into a Professional Research title.

A new form for this purpose has been created, the “Professional Research Series Documentation Summary” (UCI-AP-56) and must be included in all review files for the 2006-07 academic year.  The appropriate checklists will be updated on the Academic Personnel website.
